I work for a German company and it appears to be in their nature to not keep you updated on the progress of things. It seems they communicate only when something is about to happen or they want something (usually tomorrow). So when something is ongoing it can get pretty frustrating - no communication means nothing's happening or....?

I reckon Alan's spent all our money on jazz records
it's OK to head out for wonderful, but on your way to wonderful, you're gonna have to pass through all right. When you get to all right,
take a good look around and get used to it, because that may be as far as you're gonna go.

I can only think it was not as straightforward as we were lead to believe. I was under the impression that we'd send them the money and The V Bulletin people would just press a button and, hey presto, we'd be on the latest version. As for Alan buying Jazz records with the money I don't think he'd get many with what we've sent in, but it was only going to cost £150 or so? So long ago I've forgotten.

                              Correct.

As well as trying to check and double-check that no content is lost by the transition process, there is also the fact that Ash's availability to watch over the servers when the transition happens has been severely limited. Family and paid work has to come first.

The last email exchange said it would happen this week, I will catch up with Ash again today.
If you're looking for a pristine copy then this isn't the one for you. The vinyl looks like someone has polished their brickwork with it and the label has been ruined by some fool with a pen.

Fingers crossed. Data encoding issues are the bane of my working life. Database migrations are not much fun either.
