Default MAY DAY: Andy & Boney Votel @ Sea Records, Southport

What you doing on Sunday 1st May to celebrate May Day and the fact you probably won't be in work on Monday as it is a big fat bank holiday?

Well, Sea Records - the label wot I do - is hosting those b-music, Finders Keepers, Twisted Nerds the Messrs Votel in sunny, sunny Southport. All welcome and its free to get yourself in, which is nice. God knows what they'll be playing and even Him up in Heaven couldn't tell you how they managed to find it.

It'll be at Bar Flava on Lord Street, right next to the Arts Centre, a minute away from the station. It's a nice place, it'll be nice and busy and we'll be showing horrendously obscure and borderline obscene Japanese cinema to unsuspecting citizens from eight.

If you're contemplating coming down, give me a shout. If certain things go to plan I may even be able to squeeze you some needle time...

Oh, and check out the Sea site: www.searecords.co.uk.

I for one am very excited.

Just confirmed, back by popular demand: Liverpool's own Lovecraft.

One violinist, one guitarist, one percussionist. The Independent called them the thrid best band in the country but I spoilt it by signing them.

Like Scott Walker auditioning for Joy Division by playing in the Bay City Rollers.

    Very good indeed.
