    Default Vibra 45 Trades

    Atomic Rooster 'The Rock' (B&C)
An ultimate British break for sure.. banging open hip hop drums, funky organ, rawk guitar licks and wild brass. Dope.

    The Symbols 'Again' (President)
Splendid Beatles-esque psych pop groover. Both this and the B-side '(The Best Part Of Breaking Up)' were comped on the 'Sometimes I Wonder: The Psychedelic Pop Sound Of President' CD.

    The Supremes 'Bad Weather' (Motown)
Killer 70s funky soul co-written and produced by Stevie Wonder, as featured on DJ Spinna & Bobitto's 'The Wonder Of Stevie' comp.

    Nature Zone 'Porcupine' (London)
Bubbly synth bass-led funky disco joint from 1976. About a porcupine, apparently.

    Dave Mitchell & The Screamers'The Trip' (MET)[/B]
Black and silver label 70s 'reissue' of this heavy Northern/funky soul classic.

Lowrell 'Mellow Mellow Right On' (AVI)
Fabulous rare groove sound, sampled by Massive Attack on Blue Lines' 'Lately'.

    People's Choice 'Cold Blooded & Down-Right-Funky' (TSOP)
Head nodding funky disco classic with a tasty break (sampled by Sidewinder on their 'Ego Riot' 45).

    The Blossoms 'APB' (MAM)
Great funky femme soul disco from the one-time Tom Jones backing singers.

The Power Pack 'Hannibal Brooks' (Polydor) HOLD
Rare orchestral soundtrack 45 from Nick Ingman's outfit.

South Side Movement 'Can You Get To That'/'Mud Wind' (Wand)
Bumping 70s funk instrumental on 'Mud Wind'.

Merry Clayton 'Keep Your Eye On The Sparrow' (Ode)
I don't understand why I don't hear this played out more - really uptempo version with sparkly latin percussion, filthy bass groove, a heavy sax solo and Merry gets SERIOUS on those vocals towards the end.. really rather good.

    Titanic 'Rain 2000' (CBS)
Percussive (natch) Malo-esque funky vocal latin rock track with cool organ.

Bloodstone 'This Thing Is Heavy' (Decca) HOLD
Psychy funk rock B side debating the merits of intaking psychoactive substances.. heavy.

Seven Seas 'Super Jaws!'/'Pat's Jam' (Glades)
Fat 70s funk instrumental on 'Pat's Jam' from this Clarence Reid alias.

    Miami 'Kill That Roach' (Drive)
    Classic rare groover.

Ian my good man - please could I have a pop at this 'un?

The House Of Commons 'Funky Fuddle Duddle' (GRT)
Off the hook proto-hip hop funk beats located on the most unlikely source of the B side of a Canadian novelty 45. Super-fat piano, big hip hop drums, funky organ and heavy sax soloing.. a belter!

The Mystic Moods 'Honey Trippin'/'Midnight Snack' (Mint)
'Honey Trippin' is nice, but a tougher funk instrumental lurks on 'Midnight Snack' with clavinet, rhodes, heavy percussion and brass. Yum!

If I can find something for you, wouldn't mind a pop at this one Ian...
