    Angry Record Collector Subscriptions

Does anyone here have a subscription to R.C.?

I took one out in December. One of the benefits of doing so is that you are supposed to get your copy before it hits the shops. However the December one didn`t reach me till it was actually in the shops. I rang the subs dept & they assured me this was a one off & that it was a delay caused by the xmas post
It`s due out again today, and i`ve still not got mine. This happen to anyone else?

I've got one - got the new issue yesterday. They're usually pretty good in all fairness.

I don't think they have one to be honest - think the only way is through the mag.

Look in the mag - they now have a whole page (wow!) dedicated to their web gear - and are now (finally!) cottoning onto the 'Net at last - even have a 'Popsike' styled page where they put prices for stuff on t'bay - at last!!

"Archaic mag run by dinosaurs finally accepts that the era of the internet has arrived....!!"

I'll go and bake a cake...

There's one thing those dinosaurs are totally spot on about though- Their common rant that people pay ridiculous prices for common lps on the 'bay...

Standard mono Sgt Pepper, no wide spine, dot after the EMI logo or any of that other irrelevent hype/bull , in mint.

RC used to have a website until about two years ago when they closed it to launch a new improved version......still waiting.

As regards the subscription thing, I cancelled my Mojo subs as I never recieved it until it had been in the shops a couple of days.

I now prefer to pick up RC and Mojo from my local shop in pristine condition without the rips and creases the Post Office used to like to inflict on them.

    .
Yes it always baffles me how Record Collector can criticise certain Web sites and not have one of their own. Now they have dedicated a full page to Ebay, the site which in their 2004 price guide they said was full of people lieing about the condition of the records they were selling and shill bidders pushing up prices.

Shininess: the true benchmark of audiophile excellence. Or maybe his other record just looks like a sanding disc.
