Shame to hear that the amazing improv guitarist Derek Bailey has died, a real influence on me in my late teens borrowed his improv guitar book from stockport library years ago and got into his stuff from that.

He started the first uk musician run indie label along with the legendary Evan Parker
and made one of if not the best experimental guitar lp ever AIDA
totally up there with the likes of john Fahey, davy Graham, etc...

I heard the tribute on Radio 3 - some pretty mad and interesting stuff, although I had to raise an eyebrow at Bailey meeting up with a 'dictophone and Brick' playing duo. Absolutely nuts!

Rest in peace Derek Bailey... or give 'em hell, whichever you prefer. My favorite guitarist!
