Sir Lord Baltimore on Kingdom Come, specifically 'Hard Rain Fallin'', 'Lady of Fire', and 'Pumped Up'.
I need to know because Spring is here. It is time, once more, to rock.

Can only get behind ya on the Sonics, sir. Blue Cheer are overrated imo, and that Randy Holden album, tho kinda awesome, is also kinda noodly. I know I'll get lambasted for this --but I think MC5 are also overrated.Originally Posted by flytipper

Don't know the tracks you mentioned, but few rock as hard as the mighty Vanilla FudgeOriginally Posted by beddoes
There was the classic clip off Ed Sullivan on youtube a couple of days ago...can't seem to find it right now, but there's a great version of shotgun from Beat Club
On a slight youtube related diversion, has anyone ever seen this before?

Syd Floyd doing flaming, great clear footage and sound...unbelievable. I was a teenaged Syd boot collector and thought I'd seen/heard everything...I'm blown away. Anyone know where it comes from?
*edit* actually- can anyone confirm whether that is Syd or not...if it'd D. Gilmour...what an amazing vocal impersonation

"Not only that but the WHOLE COVER is UNCREASED with only 2 or 3 TINY creaselines near the opening edge about half way down!!!! In the same place (about half way down the opening edge), there is an absolutely TINY and PERFECTLY repaired split" (xxxrecords)
Must admit it's Grand Funk for me especially their second LP.

MC5 overrated? Come on! I had 'Skunk (Sonically Speaking)' on this morning - whattatune!!
And to agree - 'Funhouse' by The Stooges is one of the greatest albums EVER. Period. As the Americans say.

The Power of Zeus?
That said, I fucking worship that Sir Lord Baltimore LP!
PLUS - a singing drummer always does it for me (THE WIG, anyone?)
U read Julian Cope's words on this elpee on his site?
Every word the raw and burning truth!
Cope hit the nail on the head, he did.Originally Posted by jakartajive

Looking to achieve Total Heaviosity????
T2 (another singing drumber! Korean reissues harder to get than a few years back, but still floating around)
Bang (second on this group, I dig "Keep On" from the Mother LP)
Flower Travellin' Band - Satori (another Cope fave, and for my money, so ecstatically far beyond any band on this thread)
Juan De La Cruz - Himig Natin (Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Wanna Say Yeah!)
Toad (pre-Brainticket heaviosity)
Also Captain Beyond, Dust, Randy Holden's Population II, Atomic Rooster and Leafhound, the first Lucifer's Friend, Pink Fairies........................................... ... How about Amon Duul II's Yeti for heavy?

T2 "It'll All Work Out In Boomland" came out on Decca around 1970, I think. Very hard to find an original, but it got booted about five or six years ago by that Korean label (Si Wan, I think?). It's amazing. The group were from the UK, dunno what town though... They were bluesy, hard rock, but I would say that they could be classified now as proto-prog, proto-metal. Singing sorta like Clapton in Cream at moments... There is a self titled CD that was recorded after and was shelved after the band broke up. It was released a while back on Acme Records sometime in the early 2000's.
I love them, they really hit the hard rock spot for me when I first heard them six years ago. People really need to talk about them and listen more....
Juan De La Cruz is Filipino, I believe. Only obscure to the Western world because of this, I think they were very popular at home. They are one of those holy grail bands whos OG LPs sell for bonkers cash. There is a popular collection of their two main albums called "Shake Your Brains". Sung in English, REALLY DUMB lyrics, but that is one of the best assests for this group. Oh yeah, the band name is just that, there's no dude named Juan in the group... They covered Chuck Berry and Grateful Dead, but a cover in the way that the band make it their own, y'know?
I think Shadoks did an LP reissue that was super limited and expensive, also long gone.... CD reissues are abound and can be found at the better psych stockists and distributors....
I would say that they are borderline bubblegum, but not glitter or teen oriented in any way. The lyrics are just so dumb (meaning good) and fun to sing along with. Yet, they were dirty, heavy, biker rock at the same time...
Looks like Akarma have since taken up on reissuing T2's It'll All Work Out In Boomland. I've never seen an LP version of the self-titled album that is supposed to be the follow up. Don't let that stop you from picking it up though, as it's pretty great too!
