    Default tips

having, after a long search, acquired a copy of the 'Voices' album by Randy mastrs feat. Solar Plexus (a big thank you to alanmck for the spot)
i now own the Torremolinos track i've wanted for many years, twenty minutes of quality craziness with choirs and a stand-up bass.

anyway, now that i have it i want to share it, and my usual way of doing this is compiling like-tracks onto cd and giving them away to friends or interested punters if i dj.

but, my concern is what can fill the rest of a cd alongside this track?

it has to be deep, possible eastern flavour, with maybe a choir...

what i have so far is:

Ao meu amigo Pedro Santos - Baden Powell
    Eternal Journey - Ramsey Lewis
Falange Dos Tambores - Robertinho Silva
    East - Billy Paul

if anyone has knowledge and/or tips to go from there, i'd be very grateful

glad to be of help. for stuff to put alongside it, have a listen to my xmas mix. pretty much all of it was in that sort of vein (to my ears - others may beg to differ). also, what about:

ode to africa by harold mckinney?
the blessing song by michael white (pneuma album on impulse) or the "build an ark version from a couple of years ago.
the bobby hutcherson stuff off the "now" album on blue note has some goodness around it.
abdullah ibrahim stuff would be worth checking out too.
haki madhubuti: rise; nation; coming or medasi - these are more poetry driven, but in keeping witht the theme
horace tapscott and the pan african people's arkestra (nimbus) will probably be right on the button too. also on nimbus is the "creative arts ensemble" with "one step out".

    howzat for a start?
