Okey doke.
I've edited this initial post with all the finer points:
I'm looking to do a comp of groovy kids music as i'm about to have one of my own and I know plenty on this board have families of their own too. Tracks should be from records specifically aimed at kids or played/sung/created by kids. The music should be interesting to us too - whether it be funky, funny or whatever.
As I live in Australia and somewhat geographically challenged because of that I thought it'd make sense if the tracks were submitted as mp3's (160k minimum - 320k preferred) via yousendit.com or the like. If the mp3's are high enough quality there shouldn't be a noticeable problem with transferring them to WAV's and compiling said CD. Once all the tracks have been compiled and artwork sorted i'll send them to Ian Townsend to copy and distribute the CD's with artwork etc.
Once we know how many people are contributing we'll PM with costs (which hopefully should be minimal).
Here are the relevant dates:
Friday 7th July
Cut-off date for signing up to contribute 1 to 5 tracks as mp3's (160k minimum - 320k preferred). There'll be some double up so i'll let folk know as we go. Anyone who wants instruction on how to convert to mp3 PM me - it's dead easy. Worse case is we sort out another option for any technophobes.
Friday 28th July
Deadline for submission of mp3's to myself via yousendit.com or email.
Around 21st August
Ian Townsend will have the copies ready to be posted out to contributors
I know it's a tighter timeline than the usual Swaps but this isn't nearly as grand a scheme, and may only end up as one or two CD's worth of tunage.
So far these good people have expressed interest in contributing (PM me if you're on the list but NOT going to be sending tracks and i'll remove the name). If you are interested but not on the list sing out on this thread:
