    Default In car vinyl

Come on some of you must have thought about this, anyone got any crazy homemade solutions for this! or are there commercial players available. I was thinking about this when I saw one of those tray loading laser vinyl players at the weekend, tracking should be perfect!

I have one of those tape connection thingermies, so I can plug my mp3 player into the car system. But you can also plug your portable into it, so you can listern to your digs on the way home.
As long as someone else is driving that is.

Might be trippin but sure I once saw a ultra exspensive limited turntable(technics i think)which had some kind of giroscope(is that the word-a spirit level thingy)and may've been set in a concrete block.Perhaps this is product of subconscious tho-I do dream sometimes of great records which dont exist.

i have a "Cadillac In-Car Stereo Demomonstration" from soulseek
made for the Delco Crossfire system circa 1970
i was really hoping that it was an LP rip, just thought it would be cool if they had sound test records for car turntables

    but it's an 8-track

I had an 8-track cart player in my first car. Them was the days (perhaps). I was so pleased when it successfully played all of an album without jamming up.

interesting that Dr Peter Goldmark was involved with this Highway Hifi idea... wasnt he one of the designers of the LP Record? And his quote "As a spin-off from the new record technology I developed for the Library of Congress a seven-inch record that plays four hours of spoken word and rotates at 831 rpm. " hmmm is this right? 831rpm?

Look out for the Aki Kaurismaki film 'Take Care Of Your Scarf, Tatjana' - not only is it brilliant, but it features a cross Finland road trip in a car fitted with both an in-car record player and an in-car coffee percolator.

...not to mention Finnish rockers The Regals doing a mighty fine version of B.B. King's "Think It Over" together with footage of The Renegades from Finnish (presumably) TV. What a great film, if a little short.

Yes, couldn't think of who the band were on the TV. I like short films - they match my attention span.

A typo perhaps? Meant to be 8rpm maybe? I know 16rpm was used for transcription recordings ...
