Default Fave record store scenes from films?

That "Boat that sank" or whatever it's called movie thread and the fact that I can't be a*sed to do the ironing at the moment inspired me to post this thread...

Hopefully it's not discussed before but if it is just point me at the right direction...

So, do you have any fave record store moments from movies (doesn't matter the decade or the genre)?

Cactus Flower, it's a good comedy but there is the added bonus that she works in a record store (vintage sixties scenes are always the best)

Not a film, but El Pais online had an interview with the psychedelic indie Basque socialist MP Eduardo Madina the other week which took place in Melocoton Records, Madrid I think.
I may be wrong as I've only been in Melocoton once.

High Fidelity, any bit set in the shop really, but the dream sequence with the various attacks on the Tim Robbins is sublime.

Hannah and her Sisters - Woody and Diane Wiest meet up again, after a disastrous previous date, in Tower (on Broadway?) and walk through the jazz section with tantalising glimpses of sleeves behind them. A reminder of a time when records stores a) had records, and b) were where most people went to buy music.

I might also opt for Clockwork Orange - at least the staff are polite and the design of the shop is quite cool...

Both the stores in High Fidelity and Velvet Goldmine have overly opinionated staff - you'd never find that in real life... - who could imagine a record shop where the sales assistant would sneer nay, snigger at the item brough to the counter...

I was on the judging panel for a short film comp recently and one of the entries was directed by Sam Taylor-Wood and written by Patrick Marber about two adolescents in 1978 flirting over a copy of Buzzcocks' "Love You More" - the shop needless to say, was manned by a surly counter assistant!

Forgot Vivre Sa Vie, one of my fave movies: in an early scene Anna Karina is shown at work in a record shop

What about 'Confessions of A Pop Star'? Askwith gets his end away atop a load of 70's singles, the dirty devil.

There was a decent scene in 'I Start Counting' - loads of bubble booths and a West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band sleeve being waved about.

& what about The Prisoner episode 'Hammer Into Anvil' when Number 6 listens to several copies of the same LP in an attempt to spread confusion? McGoohan even listens to music in a fury - he's a very intense chap.

Sent that clip to a mate who used to live in Madrid until recently and he assures me it's Radio City Discos (Plaza Guardia De Corps, No. 1), which apparently is well stocked but about the size of yer average box bedroom!!

Watched the Prisoner all the way through at last, over the last few months.Yes, he is very intense and the penultimate episode was like experimental theatre.

Although not a film that really did it for me, seem to remember there was some record shop action in Human Traffic. Also one of the main characters collected 78's, with some second-hand selling action in Ghost world.

On a tv note, was channel-hopping a couple of weeks ago and was stopped in my tracks by a Citizen Smith scene where he's chatting up a woman that works in a record shop.

Juice - when the steal rap records while he's flirting with the girl

Broadway Danny Rose - Woody Allen's character and the crooner walk out of Colony in Times Sq with a record

That newish Woody Allen film with the American Pie guy - they're in a New York record shop complete with dirty hipster and Gil Evans' Out of the blue on the wall

Before Sunrise....lovely film....nice record shop scene. I think this is the latter part of the record shop scene.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQpYHiB0k6k

Longer scene....record shop at 5 mins in.

My fave is High Fidelity. Which has been mentioned already so I'll opt for the Madness film Take It Or Leave It. (Where Kix from Madness is nicking the vinyl.)

Also, a cool video by Erykah Badu Honey

The store in the film is round the corner from Scout Records just off Mariahilferstrasse. I always call it Alt & Neu (old & new) becuase of the sign... It is actully called Teuchtler (Windmühlgasse 10, 1060 Wien).

I'd actually forgot this one... It's a great shop for digging - good prices and the stock changes frequently... They do great old skool bags too with a dog and a grampahone on the front.

This film was a lot better than I expected. I think Sandler should stick to the straight roles and leave the slapstick to Rob Schneider.

speaking of which I've got a great idea for a comedy scene set in a record shop where a shy couple are trying to pretend they're not looking at each other so they lift lps in front of their faces resulting in hilarious accidental sleevefaces.
It will, of course, culminate with him lowering that Hercule record with the willie in sunglasses and her a record with tits on as they finally gaze lovingly into each others eyes.
