I'm sure there's loads of ska and reggae
Although ABC Rocksteady by the Gaylads is the only one I can think of offhand.
And there's alway the risk that Miss Muffet or Bo Peep might get their pum pum wreck.

there's a great lp called "nursery rhymes with the beatle beat" you should check out. the "london bridge" track is killer, and there's even "little miss muffett" with the bo diddley beat on it!

Not exactly a cover but "Nursery Rhyme" by the PLEASURE FAIR on UNI is highly recommended 60's pop psych with an Axelrod beat.

Not really beat - nor skiffle - but check out Wally Whyton's nursery rhyme records - he played with the Shadows before they left him to become the Shadows and play with Cliff - He's got a great voice, fun arrangements and they are easy to pick up in charity shops up and down the country

Little Girl Lost & Found by Peter and the Wolves contains references to Little Miss Muffet, and a whole world of children's stories AND starts with fairground noises!

It's great.

Insanely daft... but great.

Yeah, it's almost exactly the same. The main vocal on the Peter & the Wolves version is a little bit more disjointed and the chorus is a bit more melodic to my ears anyway. I don't own it sadly, heard it on the Marmalade Skies toytown downloads.

I picked this up over Xmas in Fopp for a fiver for my friend's son. Wish I'd bought a copy for myself now too. The version of Baa Baa Black Sheep is pretty cool.

How about (Ain't that) Just Like Me by The Scorpions? Nursery rhyme verses punctuated by wild freakbeaty choruses.
