Default library records with different labels

hey all.. i am new here. (well, post-wise, i've been checking vinyl vulture for the past few years).

i have a library-related question -- does anyone else have any bosworth lps with yellow labels? are these cheap bootlegs or later pressings? i'm used to seeing only the blue/gray label.

Hi,

not sure myself as I dont have any bosworth but the yellow one I would guess is not bootlegged.

I'm pretty sure certain library records that where very popular were reprinted to meet demand with customers around the time they were being produced.
I have a telemusic 5 that has a later date on it than, e.g. telemusic 21. this leads me to assume they were reprinted or something, anyone have more info?

plus the blue one looks way cooler

The yellow Bosworths are later pressings - they'd certainly switched to that label by the early 80s. The blue/grey label was used on the 78s, so presumably someone thought it was time for a change! I didn't know they'd re-pressed older LPs with the yellow version, though.

No idea about the Telemusics, unfortunately!

I dont know if they did, I just guessed that, due to the odd dates on my telemusics

Telemusic have 2nd press for sure (even 3rd press if you include the first 10inch serie) and it's easy to check: the telemusic logo is different on 1st and 2nd press.

Montparnasse 2000 too and it's even easier: cover art is different.
There are 3 different covers for Psych Impression.

Anyone know the real deal about the IM number of press/release? Some said about 300, but it's pretty strange as we found'em pretty often on records fairs/ebay/collections.

I have no idea about how many copies of the IM lp's were issued, but I did find a copy of 'Light Beat Gentle Sounds' that had a different cover (a more generic IM type of cover) that seems to have been made for the international market and had adresses for the IM distributors in Australia, New Zealand and in Japan.

Has anyone else come accross these?

all the IM's i bought from overseas dealers came with the IM generic sleeves with the adresses on the back as you mention, so that makes sense..
