Nothing to do with me but the "interrogator" is an old friend and this month Chris has VG+ Poster Bill Brewster under the spotlight...
Previous guests have been Andrew Weatherall, Dave Beer and Alan McGee... Top venue with some great beers behind the bar...
When: Thursday, 5 September 2013
Where: Outlaws Yacht Club, 38 New York St, Leeds
The big-up: CHINWAG is delighted to welcome yet another ‘without whom…’ guest.
If you LOVE music and you LOVE talking about music you will not want to miss this rare opportunity to be up close and leaning in to our Chinwag conversation with BILL BREWSTER.
How could we possibly begin to describe Bill Brewster? Best-selling co-author of the critically acclaimed ‘Last Night a DJ saved My Life’ – arguably the definitive history of DJing- as well as a slate of other titles, Bill’s knowledge and passion for music and its socio-cultural-historical backdrop is unquestionable.
Born and bred in Grimsby, he experienced his musical epiphany at The Warehouse in 1980, listening to Ian Dewhirst and from then on the die was cast for a lifelong adventure into and inside of his love affair with music.
Bill is a writer, DJ, record collector, music lover, family man and Grimsby Town supporter. We will be exploring the outer limits of his life-long passions and no doubt he will be spinning some mind-bending cuts for your delectation.
As with our previous nights, this is a unique, special and intimate event, with limited capacity. Tickets are £5.00 and please be advised to book early at ; http://outlawsyachtclub.bigcartel.co...hinwag-e-tcket
Chinwag is a lean-in and listen conversation with people we'd love to meet and chat with. Like listening into an intimate conversation between two people having a drink, Chinwag is an opportunity to get to know someone a bit better, to find out what makes them tick, to hear a few tales, to share some insights and ask a few questions.
