  • Anton Newcombe (Brian Jonestown Massacre) Wednesday, 29th October 2014 (Outlaws Yacht Club, Leeds)

Absolutely nothing to do with me but the nights Chris does under the Chinwag banner are well worth highlighting for the mix of music and conversation...

    In Conversation with: Anton Newcombe

    When: Wednesday, 29th October 2014

Where: Outlaws Yacht Club, 38 New York St, Leeds

How much: This event is FREE but we would like to request a minimum £5 donation, per person, on the door; All profits are in support of MAP- a Leeds based charity that offers hard to reach young people access to art and music projects. Thanks to Anton for his incredible generosity in waiving his fee to support MAP.

    The big-up:

We're absolutely delighted to be welcoming Anton Newcombe for a chat on the Chinwag settee.

Many of you will know him as the creative force of psyche-rockers The Brian Jonestown Massacre, whilst others will know him as the unlikely focus of Ondi Timoner's award-winning documentary 'DIG!', recently cited as Number 1 in the Top 10 Music Movies by the Guardian.

Whichever way you vote one thing is for sure, Anton Newcombe is a force of nature, a genuine maverick who has been carving a musical path for the better part of 25 years and continues to go from strength to strength, most recently highlighted by BJTM's exceptional and critically lauded long player 'Revelation' and sell-out world tour to boot.

We love our mavericks and we know that this will be a very special Chinwag.

Get down early, have a drink, some food and grab a good seat. This will be a sell out.

To get an idea what the nights are have a peek here

Wrong end of the country for me, but that does look like a special evening to me. Hope it lives up to expectations.
Does it get recorded or filmed?

All the others were filmed - I believe there is a website in the offing - keep an eye on https://twitter.com/ChinwagTV ;-)

Quick bump - although sold out possibly worth checking on the door for returns... or for adding a few quid to the kitty given all profits are in support of MAP - a Leeds based charity that offers hard to reach young people access to art and music projects.

        Well worth supporting...
