Also loved the follow up to this, 'Janosh' (and his big white poodle!!!)... Akkerman is all over both tracks with Zorbas Dance on LSD style guitar parts... stunning guitarist... The other three singles they did/were involved in aren't sadly as good...

Yep, have both of these two and 'Marie Juana' which has the most beserk b-side I think I've ever heard... well, lyrically... have only played it out once and got some confused looks not remedied by knocking the pitch up I just need the 'Poetry' 45 I think - didn't bother with 'When You Tell It Tell It Well', not that fussed on that...

Have a few of their 45s and their first 'beat' LP album in my collection... Relentless, like a more rugged Hollies perhaps...

Only have their LP 'Beat Meets Rhythm And Blues'... covers of Batman Theme etc. I think this is on it too??? Didn't they back Chubby Checker on a few things - bit wayward!?!?

Superb song... love the 007 nod ''...go and look, it may be Roger Moore!!'' midway through... My fave Nederbiet group by far... absolutely classic band, even their rough and ready early attempts, in which the bass guitar is usually out of tune and I think Tom Krabbendam was eventually ousted from the group because he was always hammered on booze!!!

Their weirdest release is probably 'Cup Of Hot Coffee' which originally came as a 7'' in an oversized pic sleeve... bizarre! And hellish rare... I've got an OG 'CQ' and love it to bits... definitely in my top 10 albums...

Again, as with Outsiders, I had to buy up all I could find by these (though not keen on Afghanistan and/or their offshoot groups)... Think their rarest is Kjoe Bloes EP which is not their best songs wise but a stonker nevertheless... getting quite tricky to find that one now...

Nah, I dunno why... it was obviously a '69 gimmicky promo release wasn't it... all the Zipps stuff is daft money (as I found out when picking them up :s), and I hadn't at my peak of buying in dutch stuff (around 2003ish, much to my Credit Cards chagrin) ever seen that for under £70... there's copies floating around for £15 - £30 now like - may have to revisit the track...

I don't get people prefering Hipsterism over Kicks And Chicks... When You Tell... would be my second choice.

I hope Ant doesn't mind me posting one up - he has been a bit tardy in getting part three up here and some of us are a bit impatient for a fix of Nederbeat...

I'm fairly certain they're a Dutch group (I bought it over in Amsterdam at the end of the 80s as a stoned teenage beatfreak) and it's on a Dutch label (Imperial). No picture sleeve I'm afraid, but I'll scan the label at work tomorrow, and if it's not Dutch I'll take it down (and eat my clogs).

I really hate how the term "freakbeat" is misused to describe so much pap, but this record is one that definitely qualifies - and not just with games in hand but with vastly superior goal difference.

Beat? Yup, it has it in spades and with inane lyrics that consist of just the words "My", "Baby" and "Balla". If you can memorise those then you can singalong with no problems.

Freak? Well, just listen to the 30 second guitar solo at 0:54 and decide for yourselves. If guitars were living creatures then this is surely the sound they would make if they were strangled and bludgeoned to death by a sadistic 8 year old child who couldn't find a cat to torture.

The B-side is a version of "I'm Your King Bee" given pretty much the same treatment as the A-side, although its lyrics do contain more than three words...

Well Part 3 is up now and so is my collection really, don't see the point of more singles from the same bands really.

Sorry for the incredible delay, Christmas is my busiest time of the year.

I think it should be over to Hugh now, i know he's holding out on us

                    Three's a Crowd.

One of the very best 45s ever recorded.
                    Bloody marvellous.

I love the fact the sleeve states "pop-art". You should get that more often, would make it all so much easier.
                      Amazing stuff!
