              Oh yes!

Great to have a wee gaggle of plussers together, along with a welcoming bar and punters... Great to finally meet Mr. Felonius and Jimmy Bastard and pals... a true pleasure.

Always a treat to hear the contents of the record bags of Messrs Lee, Eric, and Stephen... and brilliant to hear Russ for the first time aswell, this was long overdue and didn't disappoint.

Shouts out to the mates that showed and Mr. Cairns in particular for furnishing me with vinyl freshly imported from Utrecht.
I'd would thank Lee for giving me records too, but the two good ones were cancelled out by the "proper shitters" he also sent my way... although to be fair he did warn me!

All I can say is treat the cocktails with caution in future... that one with the Markers Mark, Amaretto, cranberry and pineapple juice was a peach!

The only thing missing was sunshine, but we got a bit of that today...

I made an effort to play some stuff that fitted the surroundings not that many punters really noticed... although I was impressed with the fact that I managed to resist the temptation to "up the tempo" for the first half of the evening. Something I usually have trouble avoiding.

              LP's
Arab dance - Irv Cottler (as Lee pointed out this isn't a poor spelling of Ivor Cutler)
Taboo - Clyde Borly & his Percussions
St Louis Blues - Los Indios Tabajaras
              Batik - Wout Steenhuis
              Fever - The Three Suns
El Caribe - Angel 'Pocho' Gatti e la sua orchestra
Soul full of gold - Quincy Jones
Fat Angel - Johnny Arthey Orchestra
              Johannesburg Blues - Les Baxter
Yummy yummy yummy - Julie London
              Moon Gas - Dick Hyman
              Sadaba - Johnny Williams
              Spaceman - The third star
              Aggravation -Tommy Roe
Hippy dippy funky monkey double bubble sitar man - The Hubbels
Blue eyes - The Pozo-Seco singers
              Parchman farm - Jim Connor
Johnny B Goode - Jim & Jesse and the Virginia Boys

              45's
              The Fuzz - Grady Martin
              La Culebra - The Company
              Strangers in the night - 2 + 2
              Miss Jamaica - Jimmy Cliff
I've got my needs - Bill Deal & the Rhondels
              Feelin' Alright - Hubert Laws
You ain't my brother - Milt Larkin and his all stars

That Gus Lewis 45 is possbily the loudest record i own: it shatters speakers as it fills the floor.
