I don't remember the soul side either but in total agreement about the reggae side - always been one of my absolute favourites too, such great drumming. The Motion album has a few other good moments on it too, always used to be a good record to put on in the early hours after a loud night out, quite melancholic in a good way.
Always wished that Aswad had made a few more decent albums before they turned to slush in the eighties.
For some reason my AVG system refuses to let me have the download - is this because it's expired maybe? Looks great...

Angus Gaye's drumming was always top notch but he exceeded himself on the Motion album - such a shame that George Oban did not go on to make any more LPs in that jazz style...
one of my favourites from the Lp is "basshoven"
Re. the downloads - both the links are still live - are you clicking on the bluebox in the middle of the screen where it says "download"? Let me know if it still doesn't work for you and I can either upload to another site or burn a CD for you.
Damn, I've been sleeping on this. That track list looks HEAVY! I only know the Dilinger track but I'm beginning to drool at the rest. Thanks for putting it together.
The download link for the mix works for me, not tried the individual tracks yet.
Edit: the individual tracks have downloaded fine as well. Solid set!
The bass on this is fucking monstrous. It makes every bit of metal on my car judder and buzz.
Job done.
I first heard this one played by the Silver Camel Sound System (run by the Daddy Kool Record shop guys) at the 100 Club Thursday night reggae sessions in 1977. Fabian's "prophecy" (as featured on Dr. Smith's Xmas Swap CD) was another "floorshaker" tune that would get regular spins too.
