My mate Sanjiv recently asked me to put together my all-time Top 10 reggae records for his latest blog - you can see/hear the results here:

    http://thesecretlist.co.uk/reggae-sp...island-reggae/

Of course on another day I may well have selected a completely different bunch of tunes, as somehow I forgot to include this one:

Ha ha! I didn't conceive this as a mix Tom, but after the disco swap is out of the way - maybe?

I'm reallly enjoying these. I like the UK-style tunes in particular. Gives it a bit of local flavour. Great stuff.

I have now found some time to turn this reggae top 10 into a mix - with the addition of a few more tracks that will also be squeezed on to my desert island.

Beware though, some of these tunes are the deepest, hardest, heaviest reggae cuts known to man - enjoy!

                  DESERT ISLAND REGGAE

tony mahoney - burn false preacher
                  pablo gad - blood suckers
the black stones - we nah go suffer
                  sufferer sound - national front
                  dillinger - melting pot
mighty two (junior byles) - give it to jah
lopez walker - send another moses (version)
welton irie - black man get up tan up pan foot (version)
king tubby & the aggrovators (ken boothe) - you're no good (version)
king tubby - blood of africa
                  tribesman - sunburst
                  motion - walk on by
errol dunkley - a little way different
i jahman levi & the lucky allstars - loaded version
tetrack - isn't it time to see
                  delroy wilson - run run

Here's one that I really really should have included in my mix:

                              zinc fence - king tubby

the dub side of "I heart is clean" by Cornell Campbell

Possibly one of the best dubs ever made. I originally borrowed it from a friend to tape back in 1976, more recently I was reminded of it when it featured on a mix by my mate Mike Mongo and then I found myself a copy.
