my pride and joy is a signed Prince Tui Teka gig poster - a total, if late lamented, Kiwi legend - but adding to it's mana is that it's for the great old Whangamata tavern what's long since burned down.

I have no idea what that means but I would love to see a picture of it.

        Couple autographs more:

Director Jari Halonen signed VHS of the first Finnish vampire film for me:

It's really really weird film and finally out on DVD with english subs! Recommented!

        Jörn Donner (aka Bjorn Thunder):

        Annie Sprinkle:

        John Waters:

I can pretty much recall all the autographs I own - you don't really need to see them do you?:

Jack Jones and Susan George - on the back of a JJ album - collected by my paruccis who were big JJ fans at the Fiesta Club, Sheffield, early 70's. SG was his squeeze at the time and they recorded a few tunes together.

Alan 'Fluff' Freeman - On a Radio 1 pinup shot when the Radio 1 Roadshow played my school in 1974 or thereabouts...His last words to me have since resonated...'Keep On Rocking!'...

Mike McGear - signed a copy of the Radio Hallam souvenir brochure at the Sheffield Show in 1974 - also got this signed by a number of DJs at the station including Keith Skues, Johnny Moran and the legendary Roger Moffatt who signed a great picture of himself in a Glitter Band outfit, possibly with a Womble...

Pete Agnew (bass player with Nazareth) - spotted on the Isle Of Man Ferry in 1979...

Peter Powell - on the back of a Radio 1 sticker - he was doing the Radio 1 Roadshow on the Isle Of Man that same week - we were just standing by the booth where he was signing stuff when it opened and I remember him looking particularly dischuffed at having to do it. Fluff and Peter Powell...that's as good as Smashey & Nicey innit?

The Icicle Works - on a bit of spare A4 that was hanging around the bar after they played the Limit Club, Sheffield c.1981 - we had a bit of a lock in...

Ian Gillan - encountered (most bizarrely) in a very genteel cafe serving cream teas in Bakewell, Derbyshire whilst taking a break from recording with Black Sabbath - signed the back of my Players No.6 packet!

Jane Birkin - signed me a CD and programme after a gig at the Royal Festival Hall in '97 - she liked my leather jacket and we were getting on just fine before my friends had to step in and remove me with a crowbar....got a kiss though!....

Feist - spent a full half hour chatting with me and a mate after a gig in Manchester, and generously invited us to help her drink the beers on her rider. She signed me a poster and I got another kiss...yaaay!

Seaming To - I was DJing one of her gigs and when she was having a bit of a moment during the soundcheck, I surprised her with a copy of The Herbaliser's 'Something Wicked' and a pen - broke the ice - kissy kissy slop slop....

Jawbone - a signed CD - I DJed three consecutive Manchester gigs he did - he'd take a great interest and go through all my records methodically - he liked me to play Roger Miller tunes....

Martin Moscrop (A Certain Ratio) - I DJed with Martin a few times and once I had my copy of ACR's 'Shack Up' in my box so asked him if he'd sign it. He handed it back having written 'Most Minor Crap' on the front....'It's an anagram,' he explained....

I also have a Los Palmenos E.P. that appears to be fully signed, recently found a George Melly album signed by the man, but (and some will say I'm crazy) recently passed up on a signed Harry Stoneham Trio album in a chazza...it's probably still there anyway...
you can hear colours when they rhyme...

Most of mine come from the Cabaret circuit as demonstrated by my recent 'Russ Abbott' but probably the best one was a copy of the BAFTA programme from 1979 I think which my wife found and on the front albeit slightly smudged was what looked like 'Audrey Hepburn' anyway seemed it was genuine and we auctioned via an auction house that deals with autographs went for about £170 odd if I remember right and we found it on a car boot for under a tenner.

There were a few others in there but some reason the only one I can remember is 'Christopher Cazenove' of Dynasty/Colby's fame. I can tell you however the starter was 'Prawn Cocktail'.

                How do you flog autographs?
Do you need to get them authenticated?
I found a signed Charlie Chaplin paperback autobiography a couple of years ago. My son took it to school and they all did a project about Chaplin, and a local Chaplin impersonator got all misty eyed when I showed it to him.
But I´ve had my fun with it now.

We just sent an email to these people with some pics they then ask you to send it to them via recorded delivery or special or something you get a receipt and they take a look then they either send it you back or you get a receipt and it goes into one of their auctions no certificates or anything like that they just list it how it is. I think they have about 3 auctions a year: http://www.autographauctions.co.uk/

Cant edit post, you don't get 2 receipts that's just my crap grammar, they are experts I guess so if it looks a bit dodgy you probably don't get past the door. I dare say though some kind of authentication adds a lot more to the valuation and final hammer price!

I remember our listing said 'slightly smudged' which probably knocked a few quid off the price, albeit it was slightly smudged.

There were a few in there but they were all pretty much has been celebs such as Gareth Hunt and people like that. I reckon the fact it was for the Bafta awards made it of interest too. Although Charlie Chaplin he's gotta be worth a few quid!

Talking of forgettting, I've got a signed ticket stub with a drawing of a pot head pixie and some lovely text to myself I got from Daevid Allen after a small gig in Manchester.

Think I was 18-19 at the time and nervous as hell to the point of shaking and just clammed up, went completely mute. He must have thought I was right twat, I just remember he had a weird although very positive aura when he shook my hand. I still have it wedged into the back cover of a CD re-release of 'Angels Egg' on Virgin.

On a footie tip I had a fully signed copy of this I sent to the same auction house:

                              http://www.discogs.com/Liverpool-FC-...elease/2894568

It was signed by all the players altough sadly no 'Bill Shankly' or any backroom staff.

They vauled it at 80 quid but it never sold so I got it back. Ended up selling it on ebay and it went to some guy in Anfield so was quite happy about that. I'd have kept it but what do you do with stuff like that? I'd never listen to it despite them being my team I've never been one for footie memorabilia.

'Dave Prowse' came to one of my junior schools as the green cross code man but I had a bad case of the runny shits and never made it in that day something I've regretted ever since!

my mate got to meet Lou Reed before he played the Sage in Gateshead and said it was an awful experience (super awkward attitude etc) and he asked his PA if he would ask Lou to sign his VU vinyl but Lou declined... Then he relented and signed some sort of a paper towel but the felt tip just smudged and spread so it looks like a black spider drawn by a toddler now.
