half way through the doc when they were talking bout the Blackpool Mecca there was a slow jazz/piano track playing in the back ground; anyone know what the track was? really caught my ear.

BTW - thought i'd share this; my mate is behind the 'northern soul dance class' which occurs in Manchester if anyone wants to learn some moves; i think the next one is in August.

Do you know what time? The Mecca bit seemed to have Morris Chestnut in the background when I re-watched but that's not slow or jazz:
it's OK to head out for wonderful, but on your way to wonderful, you're gonna have to pass through all right. When you get to all right,
take a good look around and get used to it, because that may be as far as you're gonna go.

Really enjoyed watching that over breakfast this morning.
Put me out of my misery please, what's the belter at 16.23?
Everyone tear down your own little wall
That keeps you from being a part of it all
Because you've got to be one with the one and all
You've just got to be close to it all

                  Cheers for posting the link;
I'd had a couple of beers when i watched it last night so my genre descriptions may be a bit off the mark but the track I'm on about is at the 51 minute mark

Can anyone help me out with the tune at 56:34, it sounds famailiar but I can't place it.

Lyrics I could catch "..In the morning yes I will..right on baby.." and "I love my baby speciady"

Speciady is what the lyric sounds like to my ears, don't know what the real word is!

                      Cheers

Enjoyed this docu - great to see so many of the original DJs - especially Colin Curtis - get a look in.

This was my "introduction" to Northern Soul courtesy of Top of the Pops back in 1975:

Yes indeed it was that track... played during the video collage of the "depressed north west".
If you're looking for a pristine copy then this isn't the one for you. The vinyl looks like someone has polished their brickwork with it and the label has been ruined by some fool with a pen.
