It must be terrible if you're a clown but your heart is broken.

When I were a lad, that Leo Sayer had just had his 'Show must go on' hit, for which he appeared in a clown type outfit on TV. I had a couple of free tickets to see him do a show in Barnsley ... and yes, he did the whole show in the clown getup. I've still got a poster from that gig, in which the hyperbole says (I paraphrase) 'if anybody is going to challenge David Bowie as Britain's best singer, it must be ...'
OK: ready; let's do it ...

Signed? Wow! For folk of a certain age, that carries some weight. Saturday afternoon legend "Shall we watch Final score on the beeb? Hell no! Kendo Nagasaki is ripping the shit out of someone on World Of Sport! Get over there NOW!" Those were the days
Everyone tear down your own little wall
That keeps you from being a part of it all
Because you've got to be one with the one and all
You've just got to be close to it all

Clowns are funny, tumbling around with their big feet and rubber hooters.
Why is everybody frightened of them all of a sudden?

A real clown killer should do his killing in costume.
