  • Even more eBay postal larks...$66.50 standard

Just a heads up really. Yesterday I won a cheapish ($20) LP. I came to checkout and postage to the UK from the USA was, wait for it, £51.79. Yes, £51.79 - or rather $66.50. I spoke with the seller who is now trying to change the rate to a more practical and honest rate, but apparently this price is now standard for LP listings for eBay in the USA for international shipping. Just watch it kids...watch it.

And is anyone else ticked off with the new thing where you have to click on a box to bring up the description of the item? Very tedious. What's the problem with having the description on the item page.

That's just on the app isn't it? It's always been like that for me on the app - for that reason I always use the main site but then that's ok on a tablet. It's always laptop or tablet for me..

No it's not just the app. It's the full site. Ebay seems blissfully unaware of the old adage "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Constantly tinkering and making things worse.

As for the extortionate postage, the seller isn't on with that Global Shipping Program racket, are they?

I find it annoying that it isnt required to post detailed Shipping rates in Ebay/Discogs, always having to circle back with the seller wastes (sometimes) valuable time in the purchasing decision process.

I find it often too bad that presumably inexpensive items you find from US sellers become unattractive after postage. I wonder why that (the overly expensive shipping terms) is, at least in Germany rates to the US are cheaper by quite a bit and I dont see a reason why that should be only the case for German postal services..

I still buy the odd thing on Ebay but nowhere near as much as a few years ago. Their constant penny-pinching attitude and the already-stated exorbitant postage costs from the States makes Discogs a better place to get stuff.

Ebay are like the online equivalent of Sam Smiths Brewery - who also constantly do stuff to piss off their punters. First it was a swearing ban, now it's a ban on bikers....

t least Sam Smiths is cheap - £1.29 for a pint of mild in Manchester City centre. So you can get 40 of them for the cost of shipping a record eBay prices...

Seems to have become even more tedious to get to the filtering options too ie: 'newly listed' etc. Every time they faff about with it they seem to make it worse.
