  • Ye Olde NME clippings

I came across a box of old NME's from 1968 - 1978 and flicking through, several articles/ads/gigs took my eye
and as I have started posting these on another forum I hope they might be enjoyed here too. They are kinda out of order
but I reckon it's easy to work out if they were from 68 - 70 or 78

Excellent stuff. Particularly like the 'Punk Leathers'. Talking Heads at The Lyceum £2.50! David Bowie on sale at Boots- There will be people on here who simply won't believe such a thing could have ever happened.

        "Bee Geeian piece of music"

I'd have gone for Bee Geeesque, myself.

Never did get the sex & drugs & rock & roll badges to wear "plaster duck" style, either.

        Love the moustache punk

Excellent HG. I always regret getting rid of my old music papers - now I'd kill for a run of Sounds from '79-'82 for a decent price! Anyway back to my point... £39 for a punk jacket! Not very punk.

I left all my old NMEs, Sounds, Record Mirrors, Black Echoes & Melody Makers round at my mum's - bad move - as slowly but surely they all got binned

Never seen that 'Madcap Laughs' promo pic. If that isn't a cry for help I don't know what is.
