                      His Men Of Rhythm
                      - my all time favourite

                      I also like a Congregation

From more recent years - a posse, a clan, a squad (or squod), a team, a crew (or krew). I think we could have fun all mixing these up. The Dave Clark Crew, The Wu Tang Five, no Six, no Seven...

You just reminded me of one of my favourites "his party players"

I've always been somewhat annoyed by this. What's it about? It's a garage thing I suppose?

60s group "Thee Midniters" used it (to distinguish themselves from Hank Ballard & The Midnighters). Not sure if any other 60s groups used it? Then in the 80s Thee Headcoats etc used it, I guess as a way of showing their influcences.
I find it a bit annoying too, same goes for a lot of Hip Hop misspellings - some work, and make visually nice new words if you don't think about them too much others are incredibly tenuous, and you know they've just deliberately misspelt every word thinking it looks cool
