  • Record Store Day 2018 release list

So, here's what's coming out on RSD:

    https://recordstoreday.co.uk/media/5...oduct-list.pdf

Was surprised that there's (gulp) actually a few records I'd quite like to buy this year.

Who'd like to start the "I can't believe they're re-issuing No Parlez on 180gsm with free flexi-disc with rare out-takes" chat...

Quite a lot of "live" releases but there is also a lot that I'd like to check out, especially that Talamanca Soundsystem remix of Tears For Fears

Blimey great album, as a reissue this would sell without the RSD hype , Gordon Beck Trio - Gyroscope

Besides the obligatory Adam Sandler grail and the amazing 12" by Chaka Demus and Pliers ... there is actually some very interesting stuff there.

Friends of Eddie Coyle OST, Cymande, Cuby & Blizzards, Eno & Shields, Demon Fuzz, Deviants, The End, Morricones, ESG, Five Day Week Straw People, Goat, Grant Greens, Heads, Honeydrippers, Jah Wobble, JJ Perrey, Kaleidoscope, Mohawks, Nazz, Open Mind, Hitchcock 45, ...wow....DEFINITELY 'The Changes' 2LP by Paddy Kingsland... Q65 EP... Grainer Omega Man OST ... Gainsbourg OST ....Spacemen 3, Studio 1 box sets ... Singapore A Go-Go .... an interesting batch.

I think I will be shooting for the Demon Fuzz, Changes and Eddie Coyle, probably the Morricone - Autopsy as well.

Eddie Coyle is cool mellow moody jazz ...

Demon Fuzz is very pleasant ...

The Changes is excellent early 70s Radiophonic business with some lovely eastern instrumentation...

Morricone - Autopsy features some experimental atmospheric and highly sinister vibes...

I spotted the '25 years of Goldie Unreleased and Remastered' package.
              That could be nice.

If the Residents W***** B*** Album is the real deal, the original untampered with 1971 recordings, I'd be up for that.
The remix version that came out a while back was obviously heavily edited/remixed IMO.

Also happy to see Ut's Live at the Venue on vinyl.

PS. In Holland we're also getting Blue Oyster Cult - Rarities Vol.2 2xLP. You unlucky bastards.

PPS. And yet more previously unreleased versions of the same Kaleidoscope songs. YAY!

I'd like the soul jazz box, could get rid of the 12's. And the Gainsbourg OST is excellent. Might have to actually go to a shop this year, bah.

Interesting post apocalyptic series too, dvd well worth a watch! Some of it filmed near to my former Bristol digs. I'd also like to read the novel. There is a BBC 45 of the theme, but it's pretty scarce and reasonably pricey when it turns up.

Wow - even this normally 'completely unmoved by RSD' chicken has had his head turned by the inclusion of the 'Eddie Coyle' soundtrack...certainly a couple of leagues above your usual RSD chuff...
you can hear colours when they rhyme...
