  • What's inside the boxes?

Got these boxes on Sunday but I had to buy them blindly, without knowing the contents. What do you think was inside?

In a couple of days I will post pictures with the contents but meanwhile you can share with the rest of the board the excitement and expectations I had when I first opened them.

Reeves it's always Reeves although I voted Laserdisc in the hope you can make a profit punting Jaws and Close Encounters on eBay (do they still fetch money, they used to?). The big box is well worth a tenner mind you if it's old.

The last time I saw a "big" box like that it belonged to Peter Sundae and had nothing but rare British Jazz LPs within

The look of the boxes absolutely SCREAMS 'I am a JIm Reeves completist' - so I've gone for the Xmas albums and storydiscs...because nobody else has and therefore I will get to look real clever if I'm right...

if the previous owner was West Indian you can get both reggae *and* Jim Reeves

Love this thread and I like this lucky bag style of record buying. I might use it to dispose of some of my Jim Reeves LPs and singles.

years back I used to work with someone who sometimes bought the "mystery" bundles from MVE. at the time they were mostly mediocre dance 12"s IIRC

Some of the LPs in the big box seemed to have plastic covers on them which makes me think it's maybe a little better than Jim Reeves. Did anyone ever put a protective sleeve on Jim Reeves?

Are you going to do a YouTube “unboxing” video like they have these days?

That'd be brilliant. Especially if he does a bit of ASMR whispering and stroking with the Jim Reeves covers, too.

Or worse - old calendars still in shrink?
found an unopened Kittens 2013 calendar in a record crate the other day (didn't buy)

There has to be at least one copy of Kensitas Club "Musical Memories Of The 50s" - I can even spot it from the pantone colour of the top spine...

Alongside the plastic sleeves some of them look reasonably new well newer than old 50 and 60's Jim Reeves albums. I think I spy a gatefold too and I don't think I've ever seen a Jim Reeves fold out unless there is a ktel comp or something like that. Could be a box of Hansi mind and you've thrown in Jim as a red herring to throw us off the James Last scent.
