Board stalwart IAN's ace duo project The Lancashire Hustlers have a new LP out this month. There are no bagpipes on the LP but almost every other instrument gets a look-in. Imagine the Everly Brothers wearing flat caps.One hundred copies of the record, with it's lovely sleeve will be available on the 11th. I'd like to say you get a free hand-written track-list but it's already got my name on it.



Hep Northerners Of Arrowe Hill also have their new opus out this month. If you haven't yet checked out 'The Hill'- as they are called by nobody whatsoever, not even me, that's the first and last time I'll say that- then you should do so now. They deserve to be a lot better known. They also have a great sleeve.

Nat Birchall's at it again but this time in a rub-a dub style, teaming up with Al Breadwinner. Vin Gordon appears too, 'bone in tow. 'Sounds Almighty' Nat Birchall meets Al Breadwinner out in a couple of days.

I heard Gilles Peterson play one of his dub tracks a few weeks back on a Saturday while working outside in full builder mode. I'd assumed it was off the other album and didn't realise there was a whole Dub project. It sounded great!

Nice new record out from Cardinal Fuzz if you like your rock a bit on the scuzzy side- I know I do. There are only 200 so I guess they're not expecting a stampede.

I'm a bit late on this I know, but the bloody great tease that is the new Melody's Echo Chamber album 'Bon Voyage' is finally out after the already long wait was extended for a further three years following a still-mysterious 'serious accident' that put her in hospital. Since I didn't get an e-mail from Fat Possum to warn me, I had to take to other sources to blag the limited violet vinyl copy....grrr,,,,
