I don’t post often, but this must be the jazz reissue of the year. Fantastic news!

Another jazz classic will see a reissue in November, Joe McPhee’s “Nation Time”:

I have that one but I’m not crazy about the sound quality in places, I find the cd on Atavistic sounds better so I’m getting a copy of this pressing too.

If you like your Folk Music with a bit of grunt then the new 'Trimdon Grange Explosion' LP could be for you. I thought they were strictly a one-off 'Great Pop Supplement' 45 band but now, many years on, they've put an LP out- and very good it is too. I just leave it on the turntable at the moment so I don't need to keep getting it out of its sleeve. Don't be put off by the F word, if Folk is not your thing, because there's all kinds on the record; just for a minute I thought I'd stumbled on a My Bloody Valentine demo that had been accidentally pressed onto side 2.

Alison Cotton has been very busy lately and has a solo record out as well.

                And a new Trunk release:

So who is this Alec Cheer?

The soundtrack is from this movie, which I haven't seen:
