  • New Releases January 2019

I know it's a little early, but happy to see that Melodies International are reissuing Jack Jacob's 'I Believe It's Alright' in the new year. Been trying to catch a copy for years, so will be happy to have this on me turntable.

Is this the same as the one that was being slated on discogs last year?

Seems a shame something went wrong with it because it seems it's a legitimate reissue and whilst it's expensive it's cheaper than paying 10 times as much for an original.

I just got the latest 7" in the Wonderfulsound subscription series, The Hi-Fires 'C'est pour qu'un jour'. I don't know what's going on with it but it's pretty tasty. Strong upright bass, banging drums and a super flute throughout. Well worth getting a subscription because It only costs £3 a month and you hardly notice that going from your account.

There’s a reissue of the self-titled Amado Maita LP from -72 out. Available at Honestjons and Mr Bongo and probably more places. Not cheap, though.
