What to to say about Dusty? So good that Blossom Dearie recorded this:

Had a bit of of a Dusty session earlier today - and I think I've narrowed it down to these 3 favourites:

    "little by little"

    "where am i going"

"the look of love (OST version)"

So - what are yours, or what neglected "b" sides am I missing?

Nice US only b-side, from the Dusty in Memphis sessions. If I'd been in charge, this would have been on the album instead of Windmills of your mind.

Dusty In Memphis is a bit underwhelming overall, I think I purged the LP (but wife still has the CD)

"Where Am I Going" is my favourite LP, I love "I Can't Wait Until I See My Baby's Face"

and these two VV classics of course:

      Love Power:
      - with John Paul Jones getting funky on bass

'Sea and Sky', beautiful tune from the 1972 film 'Time For Loving'...

I can't agree, though I can sort of see how people think that way. It's subtle, and it's full gloriousness takes a few listens to be revealed.

Yeah, I didn't mean I didn't like it, just that it's made out to be one of the best albums ever, if you read some critics, and while I like a lot of things about it, I get fed up of repeatedly hearing "Son Of A Preacher Man" (same goes for Aretha) and there's a few others like Windmills Of Your Mind which could have been recorded anywhere.

I may actually still have it, seeing as I don't have "Where Am I Going" listed on Discogs, so maybe it escaped cataloguing.

Been meaning to buy a copy of "Cameo", there's some nice soulful tracks on there, e.g.

This is a cracker (if you like disco)

it's OK to head out for wonderful, but on your way to wonderful, you're gonna have to pass through all right. When you get to all right,
take a good look around and get used to it, because that may be as far as you're gonna go.

Who doesn't love some soulful strut?

And quite partial to these two:

I'm voting for ' Where Am I Going' as well. Also...

I like 'Joe' from that LP ('From Dusty...With Love') as well.
                  and I also like this...

"You don't want to kill the cash donkey"

Yes, another vote for I Start Counting!
"White paper inner sleeve is pristine ..."

Thanks for the suggestions so far - will be checking out the ones I don't know ("spooky" and "am i the same girl" already register in my Dusty top 10 )

This is a great version of the Janis Ian song, The performance! The heartbreak! Beautiful.

Two of my favourite Dusty covers

                          Crumbs off the table

Ain't no sun since you've been gone

Everything in Greece is arpa kolla

Blimey! That is a cracker and a corker Did not know this one, I see it was promo 12" only at the time - a quick peek on discogs shows that it's way out of my price league. It would have sat very nicely on my "blurred disco" vgplus swap from a few years back.
Of the other tracks new to me - am also enjoying "summer is over", "who gets your love" and "sea and sky".
