The reason I brought it up was because evidentally,
they have sampled something I reissued onto CD
a few years ago; An LP recording released in the
early 1960's but recorded in the 1950's.

"Attilio Mineo Conducts Man in Space with Sounds"
on the WORDS FAIR RECORD Label

ONLY sold at the 1962 Seattle State SPACE AGE World's Fair.
The track they sampled is titled "GAYWAY TO HEAVEN"

Altho this track has a spoken word intro, thhe LP
was released in 2 different catalog #'s with and without
    the spoken word intros

The Sweetback track is called "Voodoo Breathe"
and EPIC is going to license it from me, since
I own the rights to the recording.

Their 1st release didn't so so well as I found a bunch of used copies at Amazon for $7 and the new sealed copies are $10

I am wondering if EPIC is going to do the same kind of marketing with them as they did with the 1st release,
    which was relatively nothing.

Have you heard of this band, heard their CD ?
I think they only have 1 out

They are the music, Sade was the vocalist.
It was not Sade's band, she was just
the vocalist.  Everyone thinks they were "her band"
but they were looking for a vocalist and choose her.

    Thank you,

    Jack
Actually, that's not quite true, Jack.

Sweetback was an offshoot of Sade's backing band which didn't happen until relatively recently.

There used to be a pretty good funk band from Hull in Yorkshire called Pride (around 1981). Sade Adu joined them and Stewart Matthewman and Paul Denman left with Sade to form a new band called Sade, with her as its focus. She's not a little puppet, she co-wrote pretty much everything she's performed. I saw Pride play in the early 80s. They were in that white-funk thing that was big in London around the time, along with Stimulin, Funkapolitan, 23 Skidoo etc.

Sweetback is pretty good, though. As is Cottonbelly, Matthewman's side project.
