    Hot, Funky & Sweaty

Thurs Nov 06: Speedometer live + guest DJ, Greg Belson.

Salmon & Compasses, 58 Penton St, Angel, London N1
    Every 1st & 3rd Thursday of the month, 8pm-2am. £2.

"Bringing you the super-heavy funk, soul & breakbeatrare through the power
of live bands & dusty vinyl"

Since HF&S started up back in July, we’ve enjoyed a steady stream of top quality funk with just too many highlights to mention. This week however, will be the big one. Described as ‘really hot’ by Marva Whitney herself, and equally praised by the likes of Eddie Bo, James Taylor Quartet and Billy Wooten, Speedometer will be taking their turn in what’s becoming a fixture
    on the live funk circuit.

We implore you to get down for this and drag your friends along too, they need to hear this! If you’ve been meaning to check us out, now is the time. Still unsure? Then check out the audio clips available on their website: http://www.speedometer-funk.co.uk/ Better still, buy their new LP, ‘This is Speedometer’ on Blow It Hard Records, or the new 45, ‘Crew Cut’ on Kennel Klub. Throw in Greg Belson on Guest DJ duties and you’re looking at one almighty funk night. And all for £2...

Sure, we’re hitting you with the extra hard sell here, but it’s for a damn good reason – this is gonna be the gig of the year for HF&S, don’t sleep.

I'll be over at The Elbow Room having a bowl of chili or a burger or something, quaffing a beer and playing a game of pool with the missus if anybody fancies something to do, early doors like.

8pm sharp over at the Salmon, though.
