  • The funk mobile

Hey guys when I was a kid we had a sticker on the back of my dads car that simply said "funk mobile". Well now that I've just bought a wagon to tour europe in I reckon I need some funk stickers. Any ideas where I could get some. Perhaps something that says "the mother ship" or something with funk in the wording.

If any of you are curious check out :

You could try Jazzman - he did have some nice 'Funk 45' stickers and prolly has something for the Mid West Funk comp too I'd imagine. You might need to buy something off him to gain access to those funky adhesives tho..

Let him have the lot for £2.00 - we were only going to throw 'em out anyway...

It's worth scouring ebay if you can be bothered and you don't mind paying a little more than you normally would for stickers. Sellers like this have lots of seventies deadstock stuff including original seventies stickers. Who can resist a nice Aretha sticker or some Blood, Sweat & Tears illspinningwheelbreakbeatnotrare type action. You may even find a 'Funk Mobile' sticker.

My first car 15 years or so ago had two custom made stickers. One read "Funkadelic" and had been designed and printed by a local record owner who was a P-Funk fan.
The other one said "Street Sounds" in nice grafitti lettering and was from a record shop by the same name run by an British ex-Army guy in Hameln, Germany.
Over the years, I came to the conclusion that the best stickers are those you make yourself. Find a dope image or font, get yourself some sheets of adhesive book-laminating tape and make one-off stickers.
With printing-on-demand being very cheap today, you can even get a professional job done at very low cost.
