Not technically Kent, but a good shop none the less.

      Coming geographically correct!
Let him have the lot for £2.00 - we were only going to throw 'em out anyway...

are there any others worth going to in Croydon?

            yell.co.uk lists:

            The Vinyl Resting Place
            Big Apple Records
            Beanos
            Wax
            Hung Up
            101 Records
            Spellbound Records
            Swag Records
            Memory Lane Records
            Buy or Die Records

i know Big Apple is a dance shop, but anyone know anything about the others?

there was a place in Reading upstairs in an antiques market which has a grumpy owner with signs up saying things like 'No browsers'. obviously i had a thorough browse, a listen to a few things, and then put everything back for being overpriced or scratched...

Beanos and Memory lane are the only ones worth a visit, 101 records used to be OK but it has a really strange opening policy now.

Haven't visited Buy Or Die in a good few years but they used to stock some good reissues and second-hand records, and were one of the best/only places to buy decent hip hop in Croydon. Friendly staff too (they'd moved down from Manchester I believe?).

I don't know any of the others that haven't been already mentioned, but H And R. Cloake, at the end of George's Walk, also used to be worth a passing visit (it was steadily going downhill though). Part of 'The Chain With No Name' and sold  instruments and sheet music upstairs, but I dunno if it still exists since one of the guys who ran it is now working in Beanos...

Take your time to go thorugh the 45 boxes in Beanos. The guys have neither the time nor (apparently) the inclination to keep on top of things so there's always something interesting to be had...
