  • Jenson button bbc ad

Now then.. this must have been bugging the sh*t out of someone else on here - what is that funky hammond groove on this thoroughly irritating ad for bbci on at the moment? You know the one, he's switching channels and says "nice gear changes"..

Commercialbreaksandbeats seems to be offline at the moment, but on google's history someone did pose the question.. any answers? Sounds like an edit of an old Blue Note track..
Let him have the lot for £2.00 - we were only going to throw 'em out anyway...

The track is "The Obsession" by JTQ from their last album "The Oscillator". Lot's of the same on the CD... very strong.

Is it just me or does Button lack one thing despite having it all: looks, money, youth and I presume amazing reflexes and above average driving skills. Button hs absolutely no personality. I'd like to see Peter Kay do that one..!

JTQ?!! No way.. blimey! I'll have to have a look into that. I went to quite a lot of JTQ gigs in the early 90's, including one memorable occasion when me and a few mates drunkenly stumbled backstage to talk to them afterwards.. but that as they say, is another story!

          Thanks a lot Martin.

He seems to be perfectly amiable and interesting trackside, but he's certainly shit at working from a script

Strange really, he gets it in the neck for the first couple of seasons from the press for being too much of the playboy off track, changes his lifestyle and starts to deliver *on* the track and gets a similar amount of stick for going this BBC advert. Which is admittedly a bit shit.

Agreed Nick. Annoying for us Freeview users, that the version of BBCi that they always show is the Sky Digital model, not the bandwidth limited Freeview model.

I'm rather excited about the upcoming F1 season to be honest.... seems I'm surrounded by Darts fans though

I can whole-heartedly recommend you do so... they seem to get very mixed reviews on their releases, mainly because their style can shift dramatically from one release to the next... but the latest album is a full-on Hammond monster with no horns or vocals at all and features Snowboy on percusssion... stripped down and HOT!

And if I'm not mistakne, produced by Snowboy too. Hence the dirty filthiness of it all.

saw them play that album at the LA2, (or the Mean Fiddler as i believe it's now called) with Snowboy deejaying. great night, even if they did kick everyone out at 11:30 or something so that whatever crappy clubnight is there on a Friday could happen

I caught The Prisoners a few times, caught The Prime Movers an awful lot and Planet a couple of times too. He likes bands beginning with P doesn't he?

Have you noticed 'Revenge Of The Cybermen' is a reworking of that 'Get Carter' Dukes of Burlington/Willie Mitchell thing? But better!!!!
