Uk blog sites

Can anyone recommend a good UK based blog site? Something intelligent, political but not full over indulgent postings? I like to monitor some of the US ones, but I'm not aware of any UK ones as this is a relatively new concept to me...

This is my favourite. It's the diary of a London call girl, but she's a really good writer and it's not porno-esque. She's only been doing the blog since October, so go back and read the older stuff first. It's like a soap opera.

Since you recommended one (i.e. you know what a blog is) but still asked for an explanation of "blog", I guess you want to know why it is called blog?
It's short for Web Log.
