  • Massive vertigo uk jazz killer found in library!

Found a lovely little book today in my uni' library.

Ian Carr's Music Outside on Latimer New Dimensions from '73. It's a full on analysis on the then contemporary UK Jazz scene featuring all the heavyweight players from Mike Westbrook to John Surman to Ian Carr's Nucleus themselves. Carr's writing style is somewhat impeded by what appears to be an occassional awkwardness, given his very middle-class perspectives on culture & the arts, but it's nonetheless fascinating to read a critical selection from the time, documenting what surely has to be the most exciting and creatively explosive period for UK Jazz.
