I had a day off work yesterday and ventured back to my birthplace, Worksop. Trawled through the charity shops both there and in nearby Retford. Not. Much. Cop.

I had a totally empty bag until I got to the Samaritans shop in Worksop where someone had offloaded a stash of UK HipHop and some early 'rave' stuff.

Not being an expert in either genre, I just grabbed those that looked interesting (and those I'd heard of):

3rd Bass - The Cactus Album
    3rd Bass - Gas Face 12"
Silver Bullet - 20 Seconds To Comply
    Gunshot - No Sell Out
Martine Girault - Revival (why I let my own copy of this go is beyond me&#33
    Various - Talking Loud... compilation

and other stuff by Unique 3, Shades of Rhythm, Psychopaths, Zero B etc, which I can't remember the titles of at the moment.

And in the last charity I went to - Quit - I got the Disciples version of JCS. There was a load of SGA stuff in there too, but I can't be drawn into VV's sick world of Big Jim H, Leo Muller etc, so I left it behind.

Zero B - Lock Up? That reminds me of the opening night at Trade in 1990. Poppers-tastic.

That's the one. Unfortunately acquired too late to go into my mate's set at The Social's new night 'Gay Spunk'.

I haven't heard how the debut went, James Baillie wasn't impressed with the slightly mocking tone adopted in the promotional stuff concerning gays and 'gay' music, so it may not be returning!!

Ah well, as long as he got to play Divine 'You Think You're A Man', my mate will have been happy.
