  • Who's made a record?

In various posts, people have casually mentioned "one of my tracks was used in this" etc. etc. Excuse my ignorance, but could people spill the beans on who they record as because apart from the bleedingly obvious (e.g. Vibra, Rubberfunk) I don't have a clue.

So, ladies and gentlemen (actually, are there any ladies? maybe another topic in itself...), please refrain from modesty (or shame&#33 and step forward and reveal your past and present vinyl output.

There MUST be a Hymns-A-Swingin' in this box...

Allow me to state the bleeding obvious:

'International Mission' - Straight Out The Cat Litter, Scoop Two LP/CD (Catskills) 2000

'Reverend Funk' - Straight Out The Cat Litter Volume Three (Catskills) LP/CD 2002 (I still think this should have been subtitled 'Scoops Of The Third Kind'!&#33

    'Reverend Funk'/'Down & Out' 7" (7 Hills) 2002

And a new 12" out in May, boyeeeeeeeee.
Let him have the lot for £2.00 - we were only going to throw 'em out anyway...

      OK then.

Released 3 singles for Bob Jones's Black on Black label under the name The Hightower Set.

Released a further 2 singles for Aquasky's Passenger label as Hightower.

Appeared on 4 compilation albums as Hightower.

Remixed The Freakniks, Aquasky, Avenue A and a couple of Halflife acts also as Hightower.

Released 5 singles and an album for the Kingsize label under the name Appleseed. A few remixes too, but nothing that great.

Appeared on 4 compilation albums as Appleseed.

Released 1 single on Dust 2 Dust under the name Blackwater Industries. Also appeared on 2 compilations.

Released 2 singles as Native Soul with Dave Jarvis. One being signed to JBO and the other to Under The Counter.

I'm currently working on new material with 3 separate partners. One as maybe the Hightower Set - all live instrumentation an'that! The other two are currently unnamed but are bumping along rather nicely. Released TBC.

Well, us Herosters (Rich, Colin, Manzo and myself) have released a single self released 12 ('Aint No Party Like A Hero Party) and a 45 ('Keeping it Real / Besomebody&#39 on 7 Hills, both as Hero No7 (natch).

One of the tracks from the 12 can be 'enjoyed' on some Virgin Japan CD comp too. Sped up *alot*.

Hopefully there will be another 12 out later on this year.

                June 2004 ?

I should say so. At least as far as the Hero Southern Branch is concerned. I should refer you to our Midlands operation for a macro level view.

No problem with the foreign branch either.    But yes, Manz is, quite understandably, heads down for his master's for a while, so he'll need some notice...

You've changed your 'look' a bit Ian. But yes, the sooner you speak to Manz the sooner the cogs will start to turn...

Anyway, after hijacking the thread for a 7 Hills conflab, who else?

Look, you lot. Let's get back on topic - this wasn't meant to be a Hero re-union / record deal negotiation...

used to be in a mod-rock band which had a couple of smalltime releases - do however get royalty cheques from Hollyoaks as they used one of our songs in an episode apparently. The best hype we got however was our appearance in quality porn mag Club International - centrespread dontcha know!
