This week: Horizon 22 live + Guest DJ: Vibra (7 Hills Records, Sheffield)

Hot, Funky & Sweaty, Thurs April 15
Salmon & Compasses, 58 Penton St, Angel, London N1
    Every 1st & 3rd Thursday of the month, 8pm-2am. £2 (cheap&#33

After Easter, IÂ’m sure a few people want to find an excuse to burn off a few calories (I only got a jumbo Kit-Kat) and what better apparition of the Green Goddess to get you on your toes than in the form of Hammond rocketeers, Horizon 22!

These guys have been tight since 98 and belong in the early JTQ section of the record box. Expect lots of Hammond grooves with a hefty pinch of soundtrack thrown in – if we ask them nicely, they may do a Get Carter for us along with Bullitt, Enter The Dragon and all my other fave films...

Skidding into town in a stolen Thundercats all-terrain vehicle, our camouflage sporting, Sheffield steel butter knife weilding, Chevy Chase charming guest DJ: Vibra, of 7 Hills Records fame, who records as Fletch and is the patent holder of the soothing Vibra Touch finger massager (not really). Take it from me, the guy’s good, real good, and will be taking on divorce cases on the side – long as the adulterous husband he has to follow is drinking in the bar and is too drunk to leave.

So there we have it: car chases, finger massages, hard funk and Hammond madness under one roof, in the space of one evening – who could want more?

Hehe.. funnily enough Nick, I record as Vibra! My release was the first 45 on 7 Hills, 'Reverend Funk'.

The full shizzy on Fletch's persona (Marcus Fletcher) seems to be strangely absent from the site, musta got deleted in the update..

So.. anyone coming along Thursday? I'm travelling a long way for your aural pleasure people!

Biggie worried when he said he repped BK to the fullest, but then I saw pics of him and realised he meant Burger King. That was a relief.

Anyway, did you sell Spoonie 'Impeach The President' for three quid then Nick?

Tuff City own the rights to 'Impeach...' as used by Spoonie Gee. And Hammer was sponsored by British Knights, if I remember right.

Right - Right. What's it gonna be then, eh?

Who's BK-ing it, early doors tonight?

I'll be heading to the "Islington hood" straight after work so anyone around - raise your hand.
