Ha ha. I think I've got a double of that, if you're serious. (Well, I like it. And so does Dean. That makes two people in Britain. Any more?)

Erm, that's alright Bill. Not that I didn't like it (the absence of Nick Heyward on that track, etc.) I've got to mortgage my gran first of all and track down Si's modtastic set...

If you're into that kinda sound then u need this CD. They've done a great job in this lovingly put together collection - extensive sleevenotes, clippings, etc. (I'm surprised Dean the Bean Rudland wasn't involved...)

This a vol 1 of 3 apparently so you can imagine the breadth of tracks they have to choose from. Ms Anderson even pops up on this, along with some nice dirty early RnB instrumentals, soul jazz, early soul, blues and some early funk breaks from Billy Preston..

Oh, and Rich, what I played weren't >all< expensive - just some may be hard to dig up nowadays...good luck.

Music to my ears - cheers for that mate. I'm on the case (but it looks like I have some competition from Mike ).

So I missed the best one of the year eh?

                    Dagnabbit!

Nice to see some of my old faves getting an airing tho', esp the El Pooks track. Used to be hot on the northern scene that and it took an age to finally track in down in an old cardboard box, in the corner, in a basement, in Manchester, with an owl, many, many moons ago.
