    Anyone hear the news item on charity shops on Today, R4?

    Local businesses are claiming that charity shops are snapping up all the best sites, as they don't have to pay asmuch business rates etc as normal shops...

      That's certainly not true in Bournemouth. There's only two charity shops left there now. Both in the nether regions of the town.

        Sounded like sour grapes to me, as a charity spokesperson pointed out on the programme, out-of-toen shopping had decimated the high st - only charities were left virtually. Maybe now, local shops are making a comeback, but can't get the best spots?
