• Texas funk for £3

Fopp are knocking these out for £3 a copy.

A friend alerted me to this. He has only a passing interest in funk but picked this up because it was so cheap.

    He loves the CD.

The funk family just got bigger

Matt - I'll pick you one up - I assume you're only after a vinyl copy? Are they doing the vinyl for £3?

I'd be happy enough with the CD to be honest. Washing up and all that requires the odd new CD now and again.

Lee, sweetie, please can you get one for me too please... LP preference first, CD second choice.

If you're looking for a pristine copy then this isn't the one for you. The vinyl looks like someone has polished their brickwork with it and the label has been ruined by some fool with a pen.

I'll check Nottingham's branch as well.

Who knows, they may also have some copies of 'Pacific Ocean Blue'? (Hint LCH&#33

Only had time for a cursory look in the vinyl. No sign of the Texas one. But the Miami one's there for a fiver.

Had to leave cos some sort of mix CD was playing and the familiar strains of Level 42's 'Sun Goes Down' came on and I had flashbacks to 4th Year of comprehensive school, original mullets, Adidas Sambas, espadrilles and going bowling during games lessons. These were not good times.

I'll brave the place later and look at the CDs. Maybe the Strut comps will be back in - they had loads before.

Ben - I think that would be Tom Middleton's "The Trip" mix. I got given a copy and have to admit to quite enjoying it despite the presence of both Level 42 AND the Thompson Twin - both of whom I hated with a vengeance back in the day.

How come you got to go bowling in games then? If you forgot your kit did you have to bowl in your vest and pants?
