Got an album of latin mad jazz in the post today 'quinto sol'. Shame it was smashed into bits around the edges. Plays from about 5 minutes in on either side! Bugger.

Then went into soho to Fopp and much to my delight they had a whole section of Brazilian cd's from 3-5 quid.

Got :-

Brazil Boogie - (Azymuth/Deodato etc)
Brazilica! - (Jorge Ben/Joyce etc)
The mood mosiac 12 - (chakachas/rita etc)

3 aces cds for £13. I love FOPP.

Then stepped into that 60's shop on hanway street and found two great libraries.

Boosey - SBH3034 - £20.

I bought this on spec as I can't use headphones (perforated eardrum) but my little list of library funk had this no down to get. I'm rocking it LOUD as hell on my home system and I'm very very pleased. None of the tracks have names just 'Pop/Jazz Themes'. Loads of big drama pieces, drums, jazzy vibes and library wacka wacka. All by Dennis Farnon.

KPM 1049 - Chorus & Orchestra - £20

I ummed and arred about this as Ive got it already but it does go for big $ on e(vil)bay. So this was to mint up really. I know of a good home for my other one. You know who you are.

I don't normally contribute to these threads as Chicago is as dry as the proverbial nuns chuff...but not a bad little week particularly for the OSTs, so, nice one Cyril.

Mannix OST - Lalo Schiffrin (sealed for $7 while ones hanging on the wall of Dusty's for $48 unsealed)
Candy OST - Dave Grusin (mint for a fiver)
Blacula OST - Gene Page (OG sealed)
Stairway to Heaven - Giani Reverberi
Lighthouse - 1st
Lighthouse - One Fine Morning
The Most Collection - MFP comp
Voix Bulgares - 4AD
Baden - Baden Powell ($5 and minty fresh which does not compute for Elenco releases around here as they are always trashed)
Lab 75 - North Texas State University Lab Band

The crowning glory though (well possibly); An OG (?) of the African Music Machine LP for peanuts in the racks of a supposedly reputable shop. Actually, I'm trying to figure out if this is the real macoy, as I know it's not the recent reissue, but can't find any research to back up my unjust claim other than musty smell and the paste on interior sleeve attached to heavy cardboard. Anyone's knowledge would be welcome here!!!

Through the post

Stero Discotheque - Chicken Curry (MFP)
Fire/Things To Come - Pegasus 45
Femina Ridens - Stelvio Cipriani (a top 5 personal grail off the wants list)
A Day At The Races - Mr. Vickers
