Saturday May 22
Salmon & Compasses, Angel, London. 8pm (or even earlier)-2am.

The date for the second issue of Best of Brillo. Last format worked out just fine: you turns up, you signs up, you waits you turn. Then when the list is exhausted, back to the top for second sets.

Each set was about 15-20 mins, depending on the size of the list. Therefore, the earlier you sign up and play, the better slot your second set will be, as in midnight etc...

I'll be performing the usual duties of monitoring EQ, general troubleshooting, so if you're not a regular DJ, you don't have to worry about all that shit, plus it can be hard to hear the room in the Salmon, so I'll take care o'that...

So, you don't really have to sign-up here, but it would help to give an idea of how many people to expect to turn up and spin. And please don't moan about the super short set times, just means that you have the tedious task of trying to decide which records in your collection are the absolute best for a night like this

General rule: Sat night at Salmon, full of 'civillians' wanting to party. That didn't stop us last time mind! Went down a ball! Key word here is paaaarty!

I'm currently struggling with the poster. I'm trying to incorporate the funk in hell logo from the Ray Davis record, in an attempt to follow the movie convention that all sequels should be darker - as a joke.

But I have limited fonts and I'm wondering if folks won't get the joke etc, so maybe not... Anyway, I might need help with this...

Right, sorry about the long winded mail, but hey, it's a Saturday... So who's coming to play then?

Well, I'll be there with Rich early doors. If we can remember to bring some headphones with us this time, we can kick it off earlier than we did last time.....

Oooh yeah!!! Nice one Nick, you got any blurb (so I can give some civilians heads up)?!?

And in the tradition of all Monday Brillo playlists, I feel the need to point out that Ray's surname is 'Davies', not 'Davis'. Personally my opinion is that, even if crowbarring the actual logo or any images from 'Funk In Hell' into a flyer is too tall an order, the title itself is good enough whether anyone gets the in-joke or not.

I haven't got a gig on that Saturday, so I'd be up for, it, too unless something changes.

              I'm free!!

Really looking forward to it. The last one was a blast, and there should be some serious boozing on the cards as 's promised he's not going to pass out due to duff pastie-related fatigue again this time!!

Got some great new joints to spin too! Bring it on!
Let him have the lot for £2.00 - we were only going to throw 'em out anyway...

Anyway, so as not to disappoint your adoring fans, I've come up with a solution. I spent all last night practising the elbow scratch and, if you lend me all your records, I'll play 'em and, barring the inferior set programming, nobody'll know the difference.

And I hope you turn up on the scooter Col (although Sermad may covet it as a replacement for Street Sparrow).
