  • May brillo 2004 report

... Is not here yet. This is cos I don't have the full tracklisting. I think someone must have scooped up the pages when putting their records away or something, so if someone finds them, then they have the unfortunate task of writing em all up and emailing them to me - I've got the first page. Then I'll pop it all up, edited over this very post, which will disappear as if by magic.

See you all on Thursday, then Saturday!

    Crikey, young Nicholas - 8.33am!!!!???

Not so much of the sauce I suggest.

This Saturday, mate - it looks like I won't be able to make it early doors, cos I might have to attend a function with the missus. I'ld still like 20 minutes or so if possible, but looks like I won't be there in person for the early sign up.

    Tis a problem??

8.33 indeed... Got a big job on and I don't mean an overdue dump neither...

I'm sure we'll be able to fit you in somewhere Greg. If you miss the early doors section, so be it. Why don't you double up with Cheeba like last time? Then he can sign for the both of yous...

Actually, there may only be the one page I have, since Rich just sent me his track details, Son of Stan never writes his down and the amazing Si Cheeba & his Mod mate roadshow didn't do theirs either, so when it's all in, it'll all go up, including details of the first ever Brillo snogfest... curious? Watch this space, ha ha!

Hmmm, obviously my beard *HAS* grown...

Grief, I only thought it was going to be a quiet one last night, and then Si and Chris followed S.O.S's hula disco warm up (himself digging waaaaay beyond the call of duty OR sanity) with SHEER UTTER MADNESS and the most punters I've ever seen on a Monday night.

Good to see you Chris V!!! Hope you and Hakeem (sp?) got home okay - you missed Cheeb's set (but that may well have been a blessing - my head is still spinning   ). But best not tell Hakeem that girls appeared...

                  carolyn sullivan "dead"
                  ethel ennis "who will buy"
                  frances faye "night and day"
                  sarah vaughan "that'll be johnny"
                  jon hendricks "no more"
coasters "love potion number 9" (70s version)
los matecoco "quieres o no quieres"
                  lynsey de paul "mama do"
                  caterina valente "canto de ossanha"

Paul, how does this vary from the sixties version? The one you played last night was the one I know (I assumed it was anyhow)...

I once bought a Tygers Of Pan Tang LP because it had a cover of 'Love Potion No.9'.

I assumed it was them that did the earlier, original hit version of it. I've just checked and actually that was the Clovers.

I wish i'd played the tygers of pan tang version. now.
