• Yet another reason why e-bay sucks...

Ebay's bulk lister thing has been changed to turbo lister, which doesn't work with macs and listing shareware won't work anymore because ebay demands licenses for this sort of stuff, starting at $1000. Thanks a bunch ebay - now I'm stuck here for the next ten hours... Geez, aren't they making enough money as it is?

yup. I was a bit irritated to find their turbo lister is for PC users only. why must I suffer because I use a Mac?

Mechy dude. Any chance you can change your avatar! A lot of us use the site at work and I get enough stick for spending too much time here...

Have you complained to ebay about this, Nick? I'd go on their forums and make a polite but pissed off post about it. This must affect huge numbers of ebay users and as you said they're all about money so if you complain I'm sure they'll sort things out.

              Nah,

I imagine some of their changes is to make more money, others may be due to my connection, browser whatever, who knows... Things went wrong, but if I just read an article on salon or something then clicked back, i could complete it. It was just annoying that you have to go through all the seller steps before being told that it won't work, then you have to start over again... Also keeps leaving text out fields, so you're constantly going back to edit - then going to my ebay to make sure none slipped through - very irritating, but not so sure it's ebay's fault...

Wish their turbo thing worked for macs though and closing the door on open code was downright mean...

Ebay made a couple of changes a while back that pissed me off. One was that they removed the option so that if you hosted pictures on your own webspace you could tick a box and still get a logo. The other was when you made an invoice it no longer gave the full address of the buyer. In some cases it just gave you a postcode so you'd have to piss around trying to find out what country someone was in so you knew what to charge them on the invoice. I made a polite but slightly provocative post on their forums and they did sort both those things out.

I'm not saying that my moaning was responsible for that but it certainly didn't hurt. It's in their interest to keep the hundreds of thousands of Mac using sellers happy so you might as well complain on their forums (which are heavily moderated) and see what happens. You might at least get some feedback from other people who are having the same problems.

no prob. I didn't really consider the repurcussions of my avi until sermad mentioned it. I suppose that would be a difficult one to explain to the boss at work:

boss: "say uh, what's that you're looking at?"

                    you: "um....uh........"
