This book of condolence is now closed.

If people want to add more thoughts about Neil, the forum moderators will be able to reopen the thread and add testimony, photos, mixes etc. I'll add my email to the post so that people who knew Neil but are not users of the VG+ forum can contact me to add their comments.

Thank you all for your comments. I know they meant a lot to Neil's family and close friends.

    Sie.

Most shocking and sad news I've read in VG+.
Words are quite meaningless in such occassions.
My true condolences to his family and his close friends.
    May they always remember him.

Also, sometime next week, I will be closing this thread. Eventually, all Books of Remembrance are closed; but of course we never forget those that we have lost.

Obviously, if people want to add more thoughts about Neil, the forum moderators will be able to reopen the thread and add testimony, photos, mixes etc. I'll add my email to the post so that people who knew Neil but are not users of the VG+ forum can contact me to add their comments.

    Thanks,
    Sie.

Today, 7th January, was Neil's birthday. I've a message from Ruth, Neil's sister, that Si Flytipper and I would like to share with you all.

    ============

Neil’s book is finally finished. If you would like to look at it or order a copy, use the link below...

Thank you all so much for all your kindness, help, support and lovely words and pictures over the last year. I’ve included many of your photos and taken quotes from your tributes. I hope no-one is disappointed that I didn’t include their favourite pic or words. There’s plenty of space in there though for you to write your own copy or add more photos if you like. Sorry it’s expensive...wanted it to be as good print quality as possible.

    R x

This is a fantastic set. Thanks for posting it. I'm loving that latin track about 12 mins in - great moody tune.

diagnosis correct, but it's a great LP, plenty more on there. Barney, check also Sidran's "putting in time on planet earth" LP, always cheaper than the "feel your groove" and contains the fantastic, blunted beauty of "now i live, and now my life is done" with clyde stubblefield on drums. file beside shwan phillips' "spaced"...

    Transfer is spot on...

Edit: I think I phrased my tape question wrong - I meant to say - do you know if the film clips played under the records are off tape..? Just out of interest...

I used to record over free-bee chart casette singles to put chunks of edited film dialogue on to - then play them under the records... proper hassle, but effective - no sampler just a walkman, an input the the mixes and a pause button...

***EDIT can anyone track ID a tune on side 2, starts about 22.20 "I got some news for you darlin and it goes like this…"? Brilliant stuff. Ta.

Healthy use of film clip dialogue in there too - this is pre-burn a CD at home - did he use tapes..?

    Top work indeed
