Nick, you might want to change 'Chris Hero' to 'Rich Hero' or you'll get a hissy fit from the man himself. And that is never nice

Yeah, when did I turn from a Richard to a Christopher (not that there's anything wrong with the name)???

Thank you llmod1 for playing the request! And full marks to the Ed for pulling off a top 80's set without any irony needed. Noice!!!

Apologies Rich! I'm shit with stuff like talking and names... You won't believe that amount of times I do that! By the way, here's a clever way of remembering someone's name - ask them, and then when they tell you, say "I mean your surname" like you wanna write it down or something!

Someone told me that the other day, can't remember who though...

We've had Cal from Australia come down in the past.

Also Dreidal Menorah (Soul Strut site) from LA, when he was in town.

Greeeeeeeeat! I missed the whole damn shhh-bang! I was over Camden way in Dingwalls to check Buck 65 and jolly good it was too! Even though this meant having to trawl all the mad feedback on the night posted hither and thither! Nice [esp for those of us who could'nt make it] to post up everybody's sets. Nice and then again bloody frustrating to see everything I missed, shite!

It's evident from the posts before that this is taking on a new and pretty exciting profile! Does this mean that we're soon gonna' bear witness to the eventual, but long overdue triumph of real music played out in a London setting?

The most exciting thing for me last meet was the overwhelming presence of the funk, involving the full spectrum of this music and not reducing the nights sets to the typically narrow margins which govern most proper funk do's in London. That is a blessing and reading those play lists, it's obviously continuing to broaden which is only possible with the right kind of attitude to the music [which for all the nerdy undertones of a meet like this, is as diverse and open minded as it could ever be] Damn wish I made it though!
                          Here's to the next one.
