Alan Hawkshaw - 'The Speed of Sound' (Bruton, 1978)
Francis Monkman - 'Tempus Fugit' (Entire LP - Bruton, 1978)
Brian Bennett - 'Solstice' (I'll second Bongolia on this one, great track)
Lonnie Liston Smith - 'A Lover's Dream' (CBS, 1979 - such a beautiful piece of music)
Anthony King et al - 'Lost Star' (Entire LP - Peer Int. 1978
Philip Catherine - 'Nairam' (Bronze, 1975. Not funky, but very spacey and very beautiful)
A leaping rocker with a strong mood, a moderate beat and a safari feel.

            Cloud 1  -Atmosphere Strut
Crown Heights Affair - Dreaming A Dream

Two of the best records of any kind, ever, for me. Also...

            Rhythm Makers - Zone
            Bill - Space Lady
            King Errison - Space Queen
Precinct - Shining Star (Astral Mix)
            Risque - Starlight*
            Camouflage - Take A Ride
            Donald Byrd - Flight Time
Dexter Wansel - Life on Mars

*btw not suggesting this is in any way jazzy or funky - 1980s vintage connoisseur space cheese.

bah, been after Moon Gas for years. i never even see the reissue...

                also:
Ednah Holt - Serious Sirius Space Party

and i like the Space 'Magic Fly' album, but i guess it's quite cheesy in places

                  Oh, forgot to mention:

Roger Webb - Flying objects -Capitol Media Music 1979
This one is a little bit more disco-ish but has a very spacey sound.

some very nice choices there Paul, esp the Rhythm Makers. A few from me:

Asha - Space Talk [always sounds so good, definitive cosmic soul tunage]

Paul Fishman, et al - Absolute Elsewhere's entire contents[sublime, tripped out British "concept" gear for the heads].

Electronic System - Skylab [Trip city centre: just under fifteen minutes of proper, uncut space station groove. Did these guys have a crystal ball or wot, this always sounds so fresh. I managed to play this in its entirety at Cargo once to a room full of bemused and baggy Japanese hip hoppers. Loved every minute!]

Chick Corea - Windows [not exactly out there, but it is from his Inner Space LP. A perfect jazz record].

Janko - Xenos Cosmos [naturally] & Le Grand Espoir [from Un Homme Dans L'Univers], one of my fave Nilovic tracks & one beautiful little tune].

Roubaix - Predestination [Serious, serious cosmic jam in the macroscopic spiritual sandwich. Thanx Ed].

Nobody mentioned the Time Travellers joint, I thought this was a VV classic?????
